Performative vocal trio

Ingver in Gverilke present themselves best, so what follows is their own text:
“We are a performative vocal trio with a repertoire of original, borrowed, and inherited songs. Formed between Istria and Ljubljana at the end of the summer of 2019, though we’ve known each other for a long time. The voice is our primary instrument, from polyphony to improvisation.
By interweaving our voices, we braid—hairstyles of sound that sway until someone’s crown falls from their head. Unlike the system, we explore instruments, sounds, and voice freely, without constraint. We are not an overly complex band; simple arrangements are enough for us—we can repeat and repeat and. We are carried by durational, repetitive compositions beyond fixed meaning. With movement we follow the voice, and with voice the movement.
Our departures into song arise from shared meals, balconies, fleeting encounters, couches and barns, orchestras and choirs, underground and clearings, injustice and fairness, silence and speechlessness, news and gossip, circus, cabaret, and street theatre. We draw inspiration from punk, folk music, free jazz, Saharan blues, sound minimalism, and the resonance of diverse languages.
We are fuelled by disciplinary and safety measures, and without hesitation we give space to collective organising. We respond to the spaces in which we are active or have been active, and we enjoy entertaining and soothing the friendly body.
Ingver and the Gverilke are: Mojca Marija Frida, Enja Rojenica, Eva Boke Ziblje, along with guests.”
