Globus Hystericus
Storytelling performance for two clowns and the audience, 35 min

Once upon a time, in a distant land, far beyond nine mountains and nine rivers, there grew a forest. If you were to walk through that forest long enough, you would arrive at a very special forest, where, instead of pine trees, square trees grow, and instead of colorful flowers, square roses bloom. If you were to continue on, you would reach a square road that leads to a square village. A village full of square houses and shops, square jobs and square laws. And who lives there? The squares. And everything is in perfectly square order. Until, one sunny morning, a circle is born…
Two clowns, Rose and Marjeta Cveta, tell a simple story about acceptance and coexistence, presented without moralizing. Through their charming directness, they skillfully weave comedy, storytelling, and pantomime, leaving plenty of space for audience interaction. This is a simple and touching performance that explores the timeless tension between the individual and society, between the need to belong and the desire to express one’s uniqueness. It is a story about two clowns who, when confronted with social expectations, find the courage to change the story.
