NOise Cirkus & Threa_s
Moderated by Kim Komljanec (SI)
@ Old City Power Station
The public presentations of two works-in-progress pieces, namely the shows Noise Circus by the company Mismo Nismo and Threa_s by Danijela Zajc, will be followed by a discussion with the creative teams titled Where does a show start and does it continue? The aim of this Q&A session is both, to offer constructive feedback to the projects’ creative teams and give audience some insight into the various approaches, starting points and interpretations of contemporary circus dramaturgy. Audience participation is very welcome as this is a rare opportunity for the artists to inspect their own work from an audience member’s point of view.

Dramaturgy in New Circus
Moderated by Kim Komljanec (SI)
@ Old City Power Station
The show Janus will be followed by an expert discussion and Q&A session focused around the dramaturgy of contemporary circus art. What is the dramaturgy of a contemporary clown show? What means of expression do circus skills offer? Where do language and text belong in the time of images and visual? Is there room for pause and ellipsis in this information noise? What are the creative approaches of artists making contemporary circus and how does their creative process compare to the one common in mainstream theatre? How can these two art forms complement and feed off each other? The audience is welcome to listen and actively take part in this discussion.
